The 8 Puzzle
A simpler puzzle from simpler times, but a great way to whet your teeth in the sliding puzzle space. Build up your skills here and jump to the next level.
The starting point. Slide the blocks to get the large square to the bottom exit. A good warm-up before things get tricky.
A step up from the first. The blocks are arranged a little tighter, requiring more thought to solve.
The move count starts climbing here. You'll need to plan a few steps ahead to find the path.
Tighter quarters and fewer obvious moves. This one requires patience and a bit of backtracking.
The layout looks simple but the solution isn't. Expect to shuffle blocks around quite a bit.
Getting close to the top now. This configuration will test your spatial reasoning.
The classic Klotski configuration. Deceptively difficult—the minimum solution takes 81 moves.
The hardest arrangement. Can be solved in under 100 moves, but finding that path is the real challenge.
